The SSDA invites SSDA members to a special digital meeting with the Chief Corporate Officer of Center Parcs UK, Mr Raj Singh-Deha, to discuss the proposed new Center Parcs holiday village between Hawick and Selkirk.
Thursday 27th February 2025
3.30 – 4.30pm
It was announced on the 5th November 2024 that Center Parcs intend to invest £350-400 million to build the new holiday village (their first in Scotland), creating 1,200 permanent, year-round, mostly full-time jobs as well as c700 in construction.
This is the largest such investment in the South of Scotland and it has the potential to transform our visitor economy, generating £100m a year onsite and c£27m offsite with other businesses.
In keeping with the stated views of members, the SSDA is keen to work closely with Center Parcs to ensure that this new investment sits within and supports the wider destination brand of ‘Scotland Starts Here’, encouraging visitors to stay longer and explore the wider area. Watch the SSDA’s interview with the Center Parcs CEO emphasising the benefits to the wider visitor economy.
We welcome the opportunity for members to hear directly from the Chief Corporate Officer in this webinar and have a conversation about how we work together to support maximum benefit to the South of Scotland visitor economy.
Center Parcs are continuing to update their dedicated website (www.centerparcsscotland.co.uk) with information about the proposition, as it becomes available, including a regularly updated FAQ section.
