We held two tourism innovation workshops on Monday 4th November in Berwick-upon-Tweed and on Tuesday 5th November at Glentress. We had 38 attendees across the two events.
The workshops were for existing businesses and interested entrepreneurs who wanted to know more about the Trail, explore new ideas and hopefully develop some new products, services and experiences that offer visitors that authentic experience.
Attendees hopefully left the workshops more informed about the Trail, and some will have left inspired to develop a business idea or to collaborate with others. There were plenty of ideas from both events including:
•Beach side ice bath and saunas
•Iron Age River Saunas/natural spa experiences
•Snorkelling at Chain Bridge
•Tweed Twilight canoe experience
•Tweed Valley Ultra/Iron Man/Triathlon etc events
•Ornithological/wildlife experiences
•Castle bat watching
•Border Reivers experience at Norham Castle
•History of Turner & painting session
•Literary themed experiences
•Walls Walking Food Tour
•Curated food packages – DIY with local produce/recipes
•Create a Tweed Trail themed menu
•Brew trail
•Gourmet hampers
•Foraged/outdoor cooking experiences
•Dog hampers along the route
